The Hand Therapy Association of California is excited to present, LIVE, our 12th annual conference, “Evaluating the Layers: Skin to Bone from Hand to Elbow”

The unique conference format will host three esteemed speakers who will guide us on a journey through the layers of skin to bone from the elbow to the hand. We will come away with skills to assess and treat the joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and skin!

Alison Taylor OTR/L, CHT, CKTP, CKTI (Certified Kinesio Taping Instructor) NDT-Certified National/International Instructor for the Kinesio Taping Association and Hand Therapy Education.

Published in Advanced Healing. Presenter at 7 ASHT National Conferences and 3 Pre-conference Workshops. Invited Lecturer for 12 APFSSH/8APFSHT and IFSHT 2020. Guest lecturer at TWU and LSU (Shreveport) as well as Cumberland College of Health Sciences (Sydney University). Speaker at State ASHT and OT Conferences including TX, LA, GA, SC, CA, IL. Inventor of “Taylor wedges” for hand pain.

I have 32 years as a proud OT, and 26 years in hand therapy. I obtained my CHT in 1996, and became a Kinesio Instructor in 2011. In 1994, I completed my NDT certification up to advanced upper extremity. I currently work at Baylor Scott and White Institute of Rehab at the STAR in Frisco, Texas, and am very proud to say that this is a combined venture with the Dallas Cowboys organization. I love representing the Cowboys “STAR” every day and collaborating with the best physical therapists in sports. My specialties are hands, sports, pain, and elbows. I address pain in any part of the body, and am currently working on research algorithms for CRPS and Epicondylitis. Teaching is my number one passion, and have been honored to present my “Treating Without Pain”  lecture in Ireland, France, Holland, and in the future, Italy, Spain and the Middle East. I currently teach this class virtually and throughout the USA. I have presented at 6 ASHT conferences, the Asia Pacific Hand Conference in Australia 2020, and the International Hand Conference in London in 2022. I actively present at at multiple state chapters and hand special interest groups as well at OT programs at LSU and TWU.

My purpose is to help educate as many hand therapists, OTs and PTs in concepts related to my techniques and concepts using to Kinesio taping, cupping, IASTM, “wedges” and another treatment ideas that will help provide superior outcomes for our patients.

Don Reorden, PT, is a graduate of the University of Southern California, where he obtained a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy in 1981. He is a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist, certified by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. He has over thirty years of clinical experience emphasizing manual therapy, and currently is in independent practice in Jacksonville, Oregon.

Don is an accredited member of the Mulligan Concept ® Teachers Association and served as Regional Manager in North America from 1999-2013. He has assisted Brian Mulligan on courses since 1994, and has been the principal instructor in postgraduate manual therapy courses since 1998 throughout the United States and Canada.

Joey G. Pipicelli, MScOT, CHT, is a sessional instructor within the Faculty of Health Sciences, School of Occupational Therapy at Western University in London, Ontario. He is also a Hand Therapist at one of Canada’s most dynamic hand therapy centres, the Roth | McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Centre.

Joey has published numerous publications within various peer-reviewed journals. He is an active member of the Canadian Society of Hand Therapists acting as a regional representative and serving as the Scientific Co-Chair for the 3rd and 4th Annual Meeting and as the Program Chair for the 2012 Meeting. Joey’s clinical interests include the management of elbow trauma, wrist instability, tendon injury, and evidence-informed practice.
