Describe acute surgical treatment options for patients with non-salvageable partial hand and digit amputations with an emphasis on functional restoration
 

Specific Objectives:

At the conclusion, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify candidates for secondary reconstructive procedures, including TMR and RPNI for neuropathic pain
  2. Understand available and emerging prosthetic options, including osseointegration and advanced myoelectric control interfaces
  3. Discuss the role of hand therapy within a multidisciplinary care model to optimize outcomes for patients with partial hand amputations

Speaker Bio

Dr Curtins

Dr. Pridgen is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon with subspecialization in microsurgery, hand, and upper extremity surgery. He attended medical school at Stanford University and remained at Stanford for residency training in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

He then completed a combined orthopedic and plastic surgery fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle. He works at The Buncke Clinic in San Francisco, where he specializes in the care of patients with hand and upper extremity trauma, complex peripheral nerve injuries, replantation, and reconstruction following amputations of the upper and lower extremities. Register for Webinar Here
