Two Speakers
Speaker 1: Hoang Tran, OT, CHT
Description: In a perfect world, you would know exactly the type of injury and surgery, and patients would come exactly at the right time for the best possible outcomes. We don’t live in a perfect world. We DO live in a world where we can critically think through any case that comes our way, and make decisions that drive results.
I’ll share with you my framework on what to consider for any hand fracture cases, treatment techniques that I use for my own patients, and what I do and say to get the best possible results.
Questions and your case discussions to follow.
Learning objectives:
1. Quick and dirty of anatomy of the finger and hand. A review.
2. Critical thinking tool – Fast Track framework and how I use it to train my hand therapist in my clinic and in my program.
3. Applied Anatomy- how to use the framework regardless of what you know or don’t know about a case that is presented to you.
4. Protocols and how to progress your patient.
5. When to use or recommend Orthoses or plaster casting.

Speaker bio: I earned my MSOT from California State University, Dominguez Hills in 2015 after which I spent 1.5 years in acute care/hands at Torrance Memorial Medical Center.
